The loop is used to make a finishing knot on the head of a fly when tying flies. The loop is laid parallel to the hook shank at the flies head, four wraps of thread are made over the loop and the hook shank, the thread is then cut and passed through the monofilament loop, and pulled under the previously made wraps and tightened to form a secure thread head(whip-finish). The Velcro is used to tease out dubbing on a fly body. The needle is used to put head cement on the fly. |
